What We’re Looking For
The Bar Manager/Mixologist at The Breeze is part of a dynamic management team that has a foundation of inspirational leadership and passion for excellence. Driving the business forward while overseeing a wide range of activities from day to day operations, staff training and guest engagement, the Bar Manager is ultimately responsible for leading the restaurants daily success while upholding The Breeze’s brand image and values.
The Bar Manager/Mixologist is designed to support the General Manager with day-to-day restaurant management while ensuring bar operations and beverage offerings are maintained to exceptional standards. The Bar Manager/Mixologist is also responsible for the smooth execution and organization of the bar during service periods, as well as maintaining and improving financial responsibilities such as labour and beverage-related costs.
This role will also take a creative lead in the development of The Breeze specialty cocktails and other beverages, including recipe costing, training materials, and the procurement of products and bar supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations

Inspire staff to provide exceptional service, meeting guests' needs by customizing their dining experience and making food and beverage suggestions based on individual preferences

Practice and study the art of mixology, crafting new cocktails and experimenting with flavour profiles to assist with continuous improvements upon our existing offerings

Develop fun, unique, trend-setting recipes for low-ABV and non-alcohol offerings

Research beverage trends, develop and maintain supplier relations

Manage the inventory of all beverage-related stock, including spirits, wine and beer

Manage service execution for In-Room Dining orders

Participate in enhancing social media presence and engaging with our community, promoting The Breeze brand-focused content

Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive training guide for our beverage program

Implement ongoing training programs that create excitement and engagement

Quarterly Review of glassware and barware needs with the General Manager to replenish stock and/or discuss the purchase of new items

Sales forecasting and financial analysis of operations, including weekly reviews of sales and labour, cost of goods and monthly reviews of P&L statements

Contribute to reducing costs and improving financial performance while also considering any impact on guest experience and staff retention

Show a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail to manage a successful shift while also focusing on financial targets such as sales and labour

Support hotel operations by assisting staff and guests in areas as required; such as guest services, housekeeping and maintenance
Skills - Experience - Education
-
Minimum of 3-years’ experience in a full-service restaurant environment

Minimum of 2-years related bartending experience

Minimum 1-year experience at the supervisor or management level

Experience in a new restaurant opening considered an asset

Experience working in hotel, B&B or other style of guest accommodations considered an asset

Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 40lbs., must be able to stoop and bend

Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions

Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: POS, inventory software, excel and word

Serve It Right and W.H.M.I.S. Certified
