We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to seniors in an independent supportive living along with some residents that will be in need of care . Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personal support, companionship, and daily living assistance. Our ideal candidates will have a heart for service, a commitment to quality, and a desire to contribute to a warm and welcoming environment.
Duties
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and dressing for residents
- Help residents with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting with a a mechanical lift, when necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with early stages of dementia care or other cognitive impairments through patience and understanding.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Document resident progress and report any changes in condition to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Experience in retirement/assisted living, nursing home settings, or other senior care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of caregiving practices, including assisting with adl's and medication administration.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a safe living environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents.
- Physical capability to assist clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting with a mechanical lift when required.
- A compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Experience with Yardi is an asset.
