Seasonal Groundskeeper (Spring/Summer)

The Explorer Hotel is seeking a dependable and hardworking Seasonal Groundskeeper to support exterior property maintenance during the Spring/Summer season. This is a part time, seasonal position intended for local candidates in Yellowknife and the surrounding area.
Position Details
- Seasonal, Part Time
- 15–24 hours per week
- Spring/Summer term (weather dependent)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exterior cleanliness of hotel grounds, walkways, entrances, and common outdoor areas.
- Perform landscaping duties, including watering plants, shrubs, flowers, and maintaining greenery.
- Sweep sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor guest spaces to ensure a clean and welcoming appearance.
- Collect and dispose of garbage and debris throughout exterior areas.
- Maintain back of house exterior spaces to support a positive guest and operational experience.
- Wash exterior windows and glass surfaces as required.
- Support seasonal property upkeep and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, attractive spaces.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience is an asset but not required.
Eligibility
- Local candidates only (Yellowknife and surrounding area).
- This is a seasonal, part time role and not eligible for employer sponsorship.
