Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-volume commercial laundry and dry cleaning facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, leading production teams, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all facility operations, including laundry processing, dry cleaning, finishing, quality control, route delivery coordination, and customer service.
- Manage daily production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- Oversee the onboarding, training, and performance management of production, customer service, and delivery staff.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Monitor plant productivity, workflow efficiency, and quality assurance measures to maintain high service standards.
- Manage scheduling, labour allocation, budgeting, and administrative functions to support operational performance.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, working closely with service providers to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Develop and implement operational improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), production data, labour costs, and service metrics; prepare reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial accounts, institutional clients, and individual customers.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of service and retention.
- Collaborate with management on business development initiatives, pricing strategies, and growth opportunities.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through effective communication, leadership development, and ongoing staff training.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing operations in a manufacturing environment, or other high-volume production setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience with production planning, inventory control, and operational budgeting.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
