Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Red Seal electrician to support the Maintenance team with operational reliability and facility excellence. The role is responsible for both preventative maintenance and crisis repairs of both manufacturing and facilities equipment. You will work closely with technical teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues on production machinery and systems
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot: Motors (AC/DC), control circuits, sensors and actuators, and power distribution systems
- Use tools such as multimeters, meggers, and thermal imaging devices
- Install and wire: Industrial equipment, control panels, conduits, cable trays, and wiring systems
- Commission new equipment and ensure proper startup operation
- Interpret and follow: Blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams
- Diagnose faults in PLC-controlled systems
- Work with: HMI systems andVFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
- Make minor program adjustments or coordinate with automation specialists
- Document maintenance activities in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Work closely with: Millwrights and maintenance technicians, production operators, engineers and supervisors
Skill / Experience for this posting will include:
- Red Seal Industrial or Construction Electrician.
- Strong industrial manufacturing electrical background, preferably in sheet metal or similar environments
- Experience with electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Proficient with motors, drives (VFDs), controls, electronics, power distribution, and PLC troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills (e.g., 5 Whys)
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently in a production environment
- Committed to safety, continuous improvement, and minimizing downtime
- Intermediate computer skills; CMMS/EAM experience considered an asset
- Dual ticket (Electrician/Millwright) considered an asset with premium incentive
- Must be Flexible to work alternative shifts as required.
