We're Hiring: Inclusion Support Worker (One-on-One)

BGC Preston is looking for compassionate, patient, and dependable individuals to join our team as Inclusion Support Workers. In this role, you'll provide one-on-one support to a child in our After School Program, helping them fully participate in daily activities and ensuring they have a positive, safe, and successful experience.
Location: Bell Park Academic Centre, 4 Thomas Street, Preston, NS
Start Date: September 2026
Interviews: August 2026
Position Details
- $20.00/hour
- Average of 40 hours bi-weekly
- Health & Dental Benefits included
- Monday to Friday after school hours (1:30 - 5:30)
- Position begins in September 2026
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support for a child throughout the after school program
- Encourage participation in games, activities, and group programming
- Assist with emotional regulation, communication, and daily routines as needed
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Work closely with program staff to support the child's individual needs
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and follow all BGC Preston policies and procedures
Qualifications
- No previous experience is required.
- Previous experience working with children, individuals with diverse abilities, volunteering, or supporting youth is considered an asset and will strengthen your application.
- Patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and professional.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification is required. If you do not currently have certification, BGC Preston will arrange and cover the cost of training after two months of employment.
- A Child Abuse Registry Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required prior to employment.
