We are looking to welcome a highly motivated, team oriented, communicative, relationship based, innovative Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team at Sunnyview Animal Care. We are a well-established, privately owned, team-spirited small animal practice located in Bedford, just 10 minutes outside of Halifax.
For 26 years, we have proudly served our community with a collaborative approach to veterinary care that considers what is best for our furry/feathered/scaled clients as well as their families. This is a very exciting opportunity to join Sunnyview Animal Care as we have a new Owner & Operations Director, Dr Melissa Burgoyne and we are expanding!

Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures with precision and care
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Maintain accurate medical records for all animal patients
- Provide client education on animal health, nutrition, and post-treatment care
- Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures
- Support the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and surgical tools
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to ensure availability
Skills
- Valid certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician with current licensure
- Laboratory experience is preferred to efficiently handle diagnostic testing and sample processing
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical practices and protocols
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with veterinarians and staff

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
