**Job Summary:**
Scarboro Golf & Country Club is seeking a dedicated and motivated Cook to join our culinary brigade. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef & Sous Chefs to prepare and execute menu items to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cooking, eager to develop their skills, and interested in working in a collaborative, professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
- Complete daily mise en place and maintain organization of the assigned station.
- Ensure all dishes meet the quality and consistency standards set by the Chef de Cuisine.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation throughout service.
- Assist with preparation for à la carte dining, banquets, tournaments, and special events.
- Follow proper food handling, labeling, and storage procedures including FIFO inventory practices.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Participate in station setup, breakdown, and kitchen cleaning duties.
- Support menu execution for seasonal offerings and club events.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen preferred is an asset.
- Culinary diploma or enrollment in a recognized culinary program considered an asset.
- Food Handler Certification (Ontario) required or willingness to obtain.
- Strong knife skills and foundational cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high culinary standards.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on club operations.
- Work performed in a professional commercial kitchen environment.
