Position Overview
IBT College is seeking an experienced and engaging Online Healthcare Instructor to teach healthcare-related courses to students preparing for careers as Personal Support Workers.
This is a fully remote, 12-week contract position. The successful candidate must be available to deliver live online instruction from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time throughout the contract.
We are hiring instructors for cohorts beginning on one or more of the following dates:
- August 10, 2026
- September 7, 2026
- October 5, 2026
- November 2, 2026

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver live, instructor-led healthcare training in an online classroom environment.
- Teach course content relevant to the Personal Support Worker profession.
- Explain healthcare concepts clearly and connect course material to practical PSW workplace situations.
- Facilitate student discussions, activities, case studies and skills-based learning.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Track student attendance, participation and academic progress.
- Assess assignments, quizzes and other course requirements.
- Provide constructive feedback and additional support to students when needed.
- Maintain accurate academic and attendance records.
- Communicate regularly with IBT College administration regarding student progress, attendance concerns and academic issues.
- Create a professional, respectful and inclusive online learning environment.
- Follow IBT College policies, academic standards and administrative procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a currently qualified Registered Practical Nurse, or hold a higher nursing qualification.
- Must be registered and in good standing with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Strong knowledge of Personal Support Worker education, responsibilities and scope of practice.
- Knowledge of the Ontario PSW program and healthcare workplace expectations.
- Relevant nursing, healthcare or long-term care experience.
- Strong verbal communication, presentation and student-engagement skills.
- Comfortable teaching live classes using Zoom.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to use online learning systems, email and digital teaching materials.
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote environment.
- Must have a professional home workspace, reliable high-speed internet connection, computer, webcam and microphone.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching Personal Support Worker students.
- Previous adult education, clinical instruction or healthcare training experience.
- Experience working in long-term care, home care, community care, retirement living or a related healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and online student assessment.
- Adult education or instructor-training credentials are considered an asset.
Schedule and Contract Details
- Fixed-term contract of 12 weeks.
- Live online instruction from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Classes are expected to run Monday through Friday.
- This is a remote teaching position.
- Applicants may be considered for more than one 12-week cohort based on availability and performance.
- The contract may end at the completion of the assigned cohort and does not guarantee permanent or continued employment.
Compensation - would not like to mention this if possible.
The compensation range is $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on qualifications, teaching experience and relevant healthcare experience.
