Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Validation Lab Technician specializing in HVAC systems. This role involves conducting rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the performance, safety, and compliance of HVAC products. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory experience, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication skills to support product development and system validation efforts within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform validation testing on HVAC components and systems according to established protocols and standards.
- Analyze test data using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and Microsoft Excel to assess system performance.
- Develop and review schematics, system designs, and technical documentation utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on product development, system design, and troubleshooting issues related to HVAC systems.
- Maintain accurate records of test procedures, results, and calibration activities in compliance with quality management systems.
- Support maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols during testing procedures.
- Assist in project management activities using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Outlook to track progress and coordinate tasks.
- Communicate findings effectively through presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Participate in construction inspection activities related to HVAC system installations when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Expertise in laboratory testing, analysis skills, and product validation processes.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and specialized software such as MATLAB, Python, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical engineering concepts, schematics, system design, debugging, maintenance procedures, and construction inspection.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams and customer service interactions.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Laboratory experience related to HVAC systems or product development is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics; experience with CAD drafting is advantageous.
- Critical thinking skills for analysis of test results; time management skills for meeting project deadlines. Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
