Position Roll off Truck Boom Truck Operator
Valid DZ License 2+ years or more of commercial driving experience.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Roll-Off Truck Operator / Boom Truck Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating trucks, roll-offs, and cranes safely and efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and customer service.
This position is based out of Cambridge, ON, with initial training at our head office in London, ON. Training includes obtaining a Crane Truck Certificate provided by The Better Bin Company. Once certified, you will service areas across Southern Ontario.
You will also gain hands-on experience servicing roll-off containers, Better Bins, and in-ground waste systems across commercial and residential job sites
Key Responsibilities
Operate roll-off and boom trucks safely and efficiently in a variety of job site conditions.
Conduct daily pre-trip circle checks and maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle service, and required paperwork.
Ensure bins are safely and properly loaded/unloaded onto trucks.
Adhere to all workplace safety policies, legislation, and company procedures.
Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment concerns immediately to a supervisor.
Perform light maintenance, cleaning, and securing of all equipment as directed
Demonstrate continuous improvement by reducing turnaround times and streamlining work processes.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and site personnel
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
- Valid DZ License MUST HAVE 2+ years of commercial driving experience or more
Experience operating roll-off trucks (required).
Experience operating manual transmission trucks.
Crane operation certification/ticket (0–8 tonne) considered a strong asset.
Tri-axle dump truck experiences an asset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and walking as required.
Flexible and adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills to work in diverse job site conditions.
Work Conditions
Regular schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Overtime available after 44 hours/week.
Saturday work may be required occasionally.
Work performed both indoors and outdoors in variable conditions (dust, noise, odors, weather).
Exposure to active construction sites.
Safety equipment required: steel-toed safety boots and other PPE as specified
