Our client is the North American division of a well-established European manufacturer and supplier of specialized equipment serving the paint and coatings industry. Operating in Canada for over 50 years,
the company designs, manufactures, and distributes innovative solutions throughout North America.
The organization is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded General Manager to lead its Canadian headquarters and drive the next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team in Europe, the General Manager will have full
responsibility for the Canadian operation, including sales, manufacturing (assembly only), customer service, procurement, finance, and overall business performance. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong commercial instincts, proven business management experience, and a passion for building high-performing teams and growing market share.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of the Canadian business, including sales, operations, customer service, manufacturing, and finance.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion across North and South America.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans, budgets, and operational initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and develop department leaders and employees.
- Manage key customer, supplier, and stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor business performance, financial results, and operational efficiency.
- Lead strategic projects, process improvements, and future growth initiatives.
- Ensure a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in a senior management role.
- Strong background in sales leadership, business development, and revenue growth.
- Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational performance.
- Strong business acumen, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, engineered products, or related industries is preferred.
- Previous P&L responsibility is considered a strong asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required; Italian language skills are considered an asset.
Compensation:
- $150,000-180,000 annual base salary
- Incentive plan based on performance
