Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 3 Driver - Vacuum Truck Operator/Labourer to join our construction and heavy equipment team. This role involves operating vacuum trucks and various heavy machinery to support construction, excavation, and site maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment operation, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in dynamic environments. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise and hands-on labour.
Duties
- Operate vacuum trucks safely and efficiently for waste removal, excavation support, and site cleanup
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and pavers
- Perform basic mechanical inspections and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Support construction activities by operating machinery such as horizontal drills and other earth-moving equipment
- Load and unload materials using appropriate machinery such as loaders and excavators
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and other construction-related tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the vacuum truck and related equipment
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and paving machinery
- Mechanical knowledge to perform routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class 3) with clean driving record
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as horizontal drills and Caterpillar machinery
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation in construction environments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding conditions
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
