JC Inspection and Valve Service is hiring a full-time, permanent experienced Gate Valve Technician.
We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused technician with hands-on experience in gate valve teardown, repair, rebuild, testing, and field service work. This position may include both shop and field work as required.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Gate valve teardown, inspection, rebuild, assembly, and final servicing
- Shop and field service work as required
- Safely identify, depressurize, inspect, and prepare valves for repair
- Inspect valve bodies, bonnets, gates, seats, seals, stems, packing, and related components
- Identify required parts, repairs, machining, or replacement work
- Perform function testing, greasing, hydrostatic testing support, tagging, and preparation for return to service
- Use hand tools, torque wrenches, lifting equipment, grease tools, and hydrostatic test equipment
- Follow JCI procedures, OEM requirements, customer specifications, and safety requirements
- Troubleshooting, customer/team communication, and general shop duties as required
The right candidate must possess:
- Previous hands-on gate valve repair, rebuild, testing, or field service experience
- Experience with gate valves, wellhead valves, frac valves, pipeline valves, or pressure control equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools safely and accurately
- Understanding of valve components, seals, seats, gates, stems, packing, and bonnet assemblies
- Experience with hydrostatic testing, greasing, torquing, or pressure control equipment
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good communication skills
- Ability to follow procedures and complete accurate documentation
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work overtime and away from home if required
Assets:
- NDT experience or ASNT Level II certification in VT, MT, UT, or PT
- Safety tickets: H2S, First Aid, and CSO
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
