Job Summary
Rossdown is looking for a Junior Mechanic to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, farm equipment, and machinery and is looking to build a career in maintenance and mechanics.
The successful candidate will assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on company vehicles and equipment while learning from experienced team members.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintenance and minor repairs on trucks, tractors, trailers, skid steers, and farm equipment.
- Perform oil changes, greasing, fluid checks, and basic equipment servicing.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report issues.
- Help transport vehicles and equipment for servicing when required.
- Maintain service records and maintenance logs.
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Support the maintenance team with daily tasks and projects.
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined and interested in learning equipment maintenance and repair.
- Previous experience working with vehicles, farm equipment, or machinery is an asset.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence required.
- Class 1 Licence is considered an asset..
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical work including bending, lifting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
