Job Summary
We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Senior Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team.

Required Attributes
Problem-Solving and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues independently, using research and sound judgment before escalating. Candidates should be comfortable working through unfamiliar procedural or administrative challenges without step-by-step direction.
Technology Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of legal practice management software, document automation tools, and general office technology, with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems. Experience improving or streamlining workflows through technology is an asset.
Mentorship and Team Development: Willingness and ability to support the development of other legal assistants, including sharing procedural knowledge, reviewing work product, and helping onboard new team members as the department grows.
Responsibilities
- Support lawyers with preparing legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Manage case files electronically using NetDocuments and Clio.
- Proofread all legal documents for clarity, grammatical accuracy, and consistency before submission or filing.
- Coordinate project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives, tracking deadlines and deliverables efficiently.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems, ensuring easy retrieval of documents for attorneys and team members.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients, vendors, or internal teams, fostering professional relationships.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling clerical tasks to support daily operations.
- Conduct research on legal precedents, statutes, regulations, and other pertinent information to assist in case preparation.
Experience
- Proven litigation experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal with a strong background in supporting legal teams across various practice areas.
- Experience managing electronic document management systems such as NetDocuments or comparable software.
- Experience with Clio is an asset.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in data entry, filing, and record keeping.
- Previous clerical experience combined with knowledge of legal drafting and writing skills essential for success in this role, including proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with administrative procedures including scheduling, phone etiquette, and document preparation is highly desirable.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
