We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and safety‑focused Operations Supervisor to oversee daily crushing operations and lead a team of operators and ground crew in a fast‑paced mining contracting environment.
The Operations Supervisor is a frontline leader responsible for executing daily production plans, maintaining safe work practices, coordinating crew activities, and ensuring the crushing spread operates efficiently and reliably. This role requires a hands‑on supervisor who leads by example, communicates clearly, and responds quickly to operational or safety challenges.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
Daily Operations
- Lead operators and labourers through all crushing activities.
- Run toolbox meetings, FLRAs, and assign daily tasks.
- Monitor production, material flow, and shift progress.
- Communicate regularly with the Operations Superintendent.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure inspections, safe start‑ups, and hazard controls are completed.
- Report incidents and near‑misses accurately and on time.
- Use stop‑work authority when needed.
Operational Oversight
- Monitor feed consistency, throughput, and equipment performance.
- Inspect crushers, screens, belts, and work areas.
- Support troubleshooting and report issues to Maintenance.
- Complete production logs and shift reports.
Team Leadership
- Coach, mentor, and support operator performance.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Maintenance on downtime and repairs.
- Report quality issues to QC in real time.
- Collaborate with Inventory, HSE, and HR as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS SOUGHT:
- 3–5 years of experience in crushing operations, aggregate production, or mining environments
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong working knowledge of crushing circuits, heavy equipment, and plant operations
- Surface Miner Common Core certificate (an asset)
- Valid driver’s license
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews in demanding, fast‑paced environments
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving abilities
- Confidence in decision‑making related to safety, production, and crew management
- Proficiency with production logs, reporting tools, and basic computer systems
