The Insignia hotel is a unique hotel with rich history and charm. Formerly known as the Drawbridge Inn, our hotel was initially built in the 1960’s. Throughout the history of Sarnia, the drawbridge was the place to be. Today, The Insignia Hotel is part of the Tribute Portfolio Collection, and we continue to grow and prosper with the beautiful city of Sarnia. We offer a full-service 84 room hotel with amazing amenities such as saltwater pool, dry saunas, gym, fine dining restaurant and bar. We also have a private banquet hall and drawbridge room available for business, conferences, and leisure events.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are eager to meet with talented, passionate, motivated Housekeeping Attendants who are looking for a unique opportunity to achieve personal and professional growth. You will be an ideal candidate for this position if you enjoy being physically active and pay attention to detail.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a housekeeping attendant, you will clean 14-20 rooms per shift in addition to your opening and closing duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean all assigned rooms efficiently and follow high quality standards.
- Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
- Make beds and fold sheets.
- Remove trash, dirty linens and room service items.
- Greet guests and take care of requests.
- Straighten desk items, furniture and appliances.
- Dust, polish and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
- Clean bathrooms.
- Vacuum & mop guest rooms
- Clean public areas in the hotel, if needed.
- Restock linen closets if needed.
- Stock up housekeeping cart at the end of your shift.
- Report any maintenance issues.
- Answer guest questions regarding hotel and local area facilities, services, and hours.
- Available to week days, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Carry out any reasonable request by Management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ Year experience in housekeeping/Cleaning is required.
- Attention to detail.
- English (Reading and communication)
- Ability to perform extremely physically demanding job responsibilities and stand for 8 hours.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and work in a standing position for an extended period of time.
