We are currently accepting applications for a dedicated Safety Lead to join the Vincent Communications and Controls Ltd. (VCCL) team. This position is based out of our Edmonton, AB office. The Safety Lead is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs while promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, distribution, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Support hazard identification, risk assessments, and corrective action tracking.
- Coordinate internal audits, inspections, and safety meetings.
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Schedule, track, and maintain employee safety training and certifications, including monitoring expiry dates and coordinating renewals.
- Coordinate onboarding safety orientations for new hires.
- Maintain accurate training databases and produce reports as needed.
- Assist with the administration of incidents, injury, and near-miss reporting.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and follow-up action summaries.
- Track investigation outcomes and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Maintain safety documentation, logs, and regulatory compliance records.
- Prepare safety statistics, dashboards, and monthly HSE reporting.
- Support COR audit preparation, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed across operations.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
- Provide support during emergency response situations when required.
- Assist with all other duties as required.
- Travel to different locations and sites may be required, which may require overnight stays.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, CRST, CRSP, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety administration or lead role.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with an acceptable driver's abstract.
- Experience with Energy Safety Canada COR Audits is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Alberta and British Columbia Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in documentation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
What Do We Have To Offer?
- Compensation will be based on a combination of experience and education. Salary ranges between $60,000.00 annually – $80,000.00 annually.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday.
