Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy leader to bridge the gap between our clients and our production teams. This is a dual-focus role: you will be responsible for driving revenue through accurate estimating and professional sales, while simultaneously overseeing field operations to ensure our painting crews deliver on the promises you made during the sale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Estimating (The "Front End")
- On-Site Consultations: Meet with residential and commercial clients to assess their needs and provide detailed, professional painting estimates.
- Lead Conversion: Follow up on inquiries and close deals by demonstrating our value and expertise.
- Technical Accuracy: Calculate labour hours, material costs, and equipment needs (Training provided, though a "numbers" mindset is required).
2. Field Management & Operations (The "Back End")
- Crew Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for our painting crews. You will set expectations, monitor progress, and ensure quality control.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Manage the production calendar, ensuring crews are dispatched efficiently across Calgary/Airdrie/Okotoks.
- Job Site Safety: Ensure all teams are following safety protocols and maintaining a clean, professional job site.
- Problem Solving: Address on-site challenges in real-time—whether it's a technical paint issue or a change in project scope.
What We Are Looking For
- The "Juggler" Mindset: You are comfortable shifting from a professional sales meeting in the morning to a dusty job site inspection in the afternoon.
- Proven Leadership: Experience managing contractors, tradespeople, or service teams is essential.
- Communication: Ability to speak "client" and "crew." You can explain technical processes to a homeowner and production goals to a painter.
- Bonus Skills: Previous experience in the painting industry or construction trades is a significant asset.
- Reliability: You must have a valid driver’s license and travel between estimates and job sites in Calgary, Airdries, Okotoks and beyond.
Why Join Us?
- Structured Flexibility: While you manage your daily workflow, you’ll operate within a high-performance framework—attending scheduled estimates and performing daily site visits to ensure our standards are met.
- Proven Systems: You won’t have to reinvent the wheel. We provide clear policies and directions on how to manage our crews and deliver quality, giving you a clear roadmap to success.
- Comprehensive Training: We will teach you our specific estimating systems and technical painting standards so you can lead with confidence.
- Compensation: This role includes a salary portion plus commissions.
- Growth Potential: As we expand, your role and compensation will grow with us.
A Day in the Life:
- Morning (Field): Arrive at active job sites to check in with crews, verify progress, and ensure the site is clean and safe.
- Mid-Day (Sales): Conduct pre-scheduled estimates for residential or commercial clients, using our specialized estimating tools as well as cold calling and sales walk-ins to local businesses.
- Afternoon (Admin/Follow-up): Finalize quotes, follow up on pending leads, check in on crews and customers, touch base with the business owner to report on the day's production, engage in team meetings, be a part of the creative growth strategy.
