Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 3 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight and heavy equipment across various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent service standards.
Duties
- Operate Class 3 commercial trucks for the transportation of freight, heavy equipment, and materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation for each trip.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Skills
- Valid Class 3 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of freight handling and securement techniques.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for record keeping.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively.
