The Opportunity:
As a Wellsite Supervisor / Drilling Consultant, you will be accountable for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling operations at the rig site. Acting as the company’s onsite representative, you will lead day-to-day wellsite activities, ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements, and drive operational excellence in alignment with the Canadian Natural mission statement.
You will play a key role in well execution, real-time operations management, and post-well evaluations, while maintaining close communication with drilling engineering and asset teams. This position requires a strong field presence, with a focus on supporting frontline operations and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Accountabilities:
- Supervise day-to-day drilling operations at the wellsite, ensuring safe and efficient execution of the drilling program
- Serve as the primary onsite representative, coordinating activities between rig crews, vendors, and office-based teams
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices
- Monitor drilling performance, equipment, and well conditions, taking proactive action to mitigate risks and minimize non-productive time (NPT)
- Provide leadership and direction to contractors and service providers, ensuring alignment with operational and safety expectations
- Maintain accurate and timely daily reports, cost tracking, and operational documentation
- Support multi-well programs, including pad operations where applicable
- Collaborate with Drilling Superintendents and Engineers to ensure seamless execution across disciplines
- Participate in incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Contribute to end-of-well reporting, capturing lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Support implementation of new technologies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives
What You Bring to the Role:
- Minimum 3 years as a Wellsite Supervisor or Drilling Consultant role
- Extensive hands-on experience with drilling operations, including single-well, multi-lateral and pad drilling environments
- Strong working knowledge of drilling practices, well control, and risk mitigation strategies
- Proven leadership experience managing rig crews and third-party service providers in a 24/7 operational environment
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to identify performance improvement opportunities and optimize drilling efficiency
- Experience in conventional and/or thermal drilling operations considered an asset
- Valid well control certification and required safety certifications
