With a comprehensive list of completed projects ranging from residential, educational, institutional, recreational, and commercial, DEI has the experience to provide full service mechanical and electrical consulting for any building.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Human Resources Assistant to join our team. In this entry-level HR role, you’ll support a variety of people-focused functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee support, and HR administration.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment. This is a growth position and not for an existing vacancy.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Support full-cycle recruitment activities including posting job ads, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, and assisting with onboarding.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with preparation of employment documentation including offer letters, contracts, and policy acknowledgements.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation processes for new hires and support offboarding activities as required.
- Respond to internal employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and general procedures.
- Assist in organizing company events, employee engagement initiatives, and recognition programs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, employment standards, and applicable legislation.
- Provide administrative support to HR leadership and contribute to ongoing HR projects and process improvements.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of administrative or HR-related experience (co-op or internship experience considered an asset).
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of HR principles, employment standards, and best practices is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HRIS systems is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional, adaptable, and committed to confidentiality.
