Job Summary
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Line Cook Prepares food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.
- Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
- Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
- Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per Crescent standards.
- Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Work under direction of the kitchen manager or Food and Beverage Manager.
- Preparation of dishes maintaining quality standards flavor, presentation and hygiene.
- Realization of the dishes as set menu.
- Responsible for maintenance and cleaning constantly during in the operation. (Cleaning table and work tools, etc.)
- Keeps cold rooms or production organized keeping dated and rotation of products according to set rules.
- Respects and follow the standards set by the company
- Shows always on time to work perfectly neat and clean and wash your hands often to prevent contamination.
- Constantly maintain an impeccable personal presentation and attitude of collaboration and professional according to the internal regulations of work.
- Comply with all the rules of hygiene, security, order and cleanliness of your booth, paying particular attention in his uniform, hygiene and personal presentation.
- Attend training courses, meetings and briefings.
- Carry out any other function or task as per business needs.
Requirements
- Ability to work AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Safe food handling and Smart Serve certificates
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis
- Carries Food Handling certificate
- Must be a fast pace worker and work well with others
- Multi-tasking skills
- Familiar with WHMIS, Health and Safety, and emergency protocols
- Professional and friendly with all guests
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system

· Expected Wage: $ 18 - $ 20 per hour
