Vos Construction Inc is looking to hire a full time Carpenter and Labourer/Carpenter's Helper.
The work mainly consists of building decks and fences for new construction homes in the Niagara Region (current worksites are in: Grimsby, Fonthill, Welland, Fort Erie, St Catharines).
Work hours are typically 8-5, Monday-Friday, however, PLEASE NOTE: SOME FLEXIBILITY IS REQUIRED: ie some days work an hour or two late to finish a job. Some weekend flexibility would also be appreciated-please do not apply if you have no flexibility.
Half hour unpaid lunch and two paid fifteen minute breaks.
Minimum Job Requirements:
-Very good level of physical fitness. This job is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting. Able to lift safely. It is mostly outdoor work.
-Able to read a tape measure
-Able to follow directions, good communication skills, ask questions when necessary
-Able to progress to working semi-independently
-Comfortable safely using power tools-circular saws, impact drivers, drills etc
-Able to work safely on a construction site with many different trades present
-Your own reliable transportation-some days moving from site to site within Niagara is required
-CSA approved steel-toe work boots, tool belt
-A good work ethic and a positive attitude, able to work cohesively and safely with other team members
-References required
It would be a Bonus if you have:
-Up to date Working at Heights Training
-Up to date First Aid Training
-Additional construction/carpentry related skills/training
Salary: $22 to $35 to start, depending on experience and skill level. Wages are negotiable.
