JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Service Bartender
DEPARTMENT: Service Bar
RESPONSIBLE TO: Beverage Manager/Head Bartender
COMPENSATION: $17.60 plus weekly tips
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The role of the Bartender is to provide high quality beverages for the venue. You will complete orders taken by other members of staff but also be customer facing to guests sitting at the bar, in the lounge, and on the patio. Follow standards and comply with laws set in place for the supply of alcohol.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Note: This is not an all-inclusive list. Additional duties may be assigned.
- Ensures the highest beverage quality and service.
- Adheres to company standards of service quality, preparation, and presentation.
- Ensures guests are served in a timely matter.
- Ensure guest orders are accurately recorded and entered into the POS
- To memorize all beverage recipes and notes, ensuring the ability to advise and recommend to guests.
- Adheres to all health, sanitation and food safety rules and regulations.
- Keeps the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, appropriate uniform, appearance, and conduct.
- Sets up for service by ensuring everything is set up for forecasted covers, special functions, and all reservations.
- To carry out any other duties as directed by Management.
- To study and memorize NZR Group guidelines, Employee handbook and Food guides.
- To comply with the alcohol licensing laws.
- To work collectively within a team, supporting other members and assisting management.
- Maintains own working area, materials, and company property clean, tidy and in good shape; reports defective materials and equipment to management.
- Attend any meeting or training session as required by Management.

KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL SKILLS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ restaurant/bar experience.
- Intimate knowledge in cocktails, wine, and spirits – sake is a plus
- Smartserve Certified
- Excellent command of English language (Written and spoken).
- Ability to communicate with customers and peers with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Self-motivated, continuously seeking to succeed and progress in career within the company.
- Extremely flexible and committed.
- Lively, enthusiastic and confident.
- Ability to handle difficult situations successfully.
- Good organizational skills.
