Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing frameworks for buildings and structures, ensuring precision and safety throughout all phases of the project. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, carpentry, and various construction techniques to deliver high-quality results on time and within specifications. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including residential, commercial, and restoration sites.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine framing specifications and layout.
- Construct metal frameworks for walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed.
- Install siding, insulation, and other exterior or interior building components in accordance with project plans.
- Operate heavy equipment safely to assist with lifting, moving materials, or other construction tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with team members including carpenters, masons, and project managers to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials after use.
Requirements
- Proven experience in framing, carpentry, or related construction fields.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation.
- Familiarity with siding installation and woodworking skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and building codes.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Valid Aerial Lift, Fall Protection and WHMIS certification or relevant licensing preferred but not mandatory. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about construction craftsmanship who are committed to delivering durable structures while maintaining safety standards on every project.
