Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Walkie Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate walkie (electric pallet jack) equipment to transport goods across the warehouse floor
- Use clamp trucks and forklifts as needed to handle various types of inventory and materials
- Perform accurate order picking by locating, retrieving, and preparing items for shipment using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely to move bulky or heavy items, adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain precise records of inventory movements, order picking, and shipment details within the WMS
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting or minor repairs of equipment when necessary
- Ensure all safety standards are followed during operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to warehouse safety guidelines
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with operating clamp trucks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment is a plus
- Basic math skills are essential for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately
- Mechanical knowledge or aptitude is advantageous for understanding equipment functions and troubleshooting issues
- Experience with order picker machines or similar equipment is desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory control software is beneficial
