Roles and Responsibilities
Childcare Consultant will be responsible for the following:
- Performing the duties related to the role in accordance with Alberta Family Day Home Standards
- Recruitment of day home educators
- Monitoring educators’ compliance to Alberta Family Day Home Standards
- Conducting scheduled and unannounced day home visits to:
o Monitor safety standards
o Assess educator’s methodology of child development
o Evaluate the way children’s activities are conducted by the educator
o Providing needed support to the educators
o Train and guide the educators in implementation of childcare methodologies
- Conducting training workshops for the educators in groups
- Documenting outcomes of such training sessions and recording progress of the educators
- Administration of educator records and updating them as necessary
- Monitor any issues / complaints highlighted by parents and provide guidance to the educators
- Following up on the resolution of such complaints
- Documenting into agency’s records the complaints as well as the actions taken
- Reporting any non-compliances to the Executive Director and providing prompt guidance and support to the educators in order for them to overcome any observed gaps
Qualification & Skills:
- ECE Level 3 certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education techniques
- Ability to adapt to the needs of children with special needs or learning differences
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
