The role supports Bunzl Canada’s Category Management objectives, including PBIT generation, market share growth, own-brand expansion, SKU rationalization, and sustainable product development within Industrial Packaging segments such as stretch & shrink film, boxes, labels, strapping, and related protective packaging solutions
Role Summary
- Executes approved sourcing strategies in support of Category Managers, ensuring cost, supply continuity, quality, and compliance objectives are met
- Manages supplier execution, commercial administration, and sourcing activities within delegated authority
- Support domestic and global strategic sourcing projects.
Support Sourcing Execution & Supplier Management
- Execute sourcing initiatives aligned to approved category and sourcing strategies
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on defined requirements and selection criteria
- Support supplier negotiations and commercial programs within assigned scope
- Monitor supplier performance, cost drivers, and service levels; escalate issues as required
Operational Sourcing & Cost Management
- Support cost‑reduction and margin improvement initiatives
- Maintain sourcing documentation, contracts, and compliance records
- Lead RFQs/RFPs and supplier comparisons using standard tools and processes
- Track sourcing KPIs and support reporting for Category Management team
Cross‑Functional Support
- Partner with Category Managers, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Import teams to support execution
- Support new product development and change initiatives through stage‑gate sourcing activities
- Ensure sourcing actions align with governance, risk, and compliance standards
- Escalate supply, cost, or risk issues beyond authority to the Category Manager
Experience & Capabilities
- 2–5 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain execution roles
- Strong analytical skills with experience working with large, multi-source data sets, including extracting, consolidating, and interpreting data to support decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated ability to clean, validate, and normalize data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Provide strong analytical, negotiation support, and supplier coordination skills
- Working knowledge of sourcing processes and contracts
Experience in distribution, wholesale, or multi‑category environments preferred
