As we enter our busy season, Cenote Restaurant and Lounge is looking for a new and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team. Our restaurant is a creative, fun, and dynamic environment, and provides a great opportunity to expand upon your bartending knowledge and skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Cocktail experience is necessary and knowledge and a want for serving tables is a preferred asset.
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8- 20 hours per week.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system while adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of food orders when applicable.
- Follow all health and safety regulations within the food service environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bartending. Knowledge of Bar Prep is a preferred asset.
- Bar knowledge and spirit creativity. An ability to both follow standards, procedures, and recipes as they have been codified. Also the skills to concoct memorable drinks in the moment while also collaborating on daily, monthly, and seasonal features.
- An ability to analyze bar needs- daily, weekly, monthly, and to be organized and communicative as to these demands.
- To be physically fit, with proper standards for safety, protocol, hygiene, and integrity. To maintain a positive attitude, an even temper, and a strong work ethic at all times.
- A want to work under self-government and direction, but also a willingness to help others as part of a team. To fundamentally show leadership skills.
- Speed, multi-tasking, creative problem solving, and a focused attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively engage with guests, while simultaneously having an ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands maintaining composure under pressure and stress.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, as well as a familiarity with POS systems to manage orders and payments efficiently
- Knowledge of food and bar safety practices to maintain a safe environment for patrons.
