Job Summary
We are seeking a talented, passionate, and motivated Pastry / Prep Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both pastry production and kitchen preparation, with a passion for creating high-quality desserts and supporting daily kitchen operations.
Working alongside our culinary team, you will prepare fresh baked goods, desserts, and assist with food preparation while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and presentation. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of fresh baked goods, pastries, and desserts.
- Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping, mixing, portioning, and ingredient preparation.
- Decorate cakes and desserts to meet presentation and quality standards.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- Package and present baked goods for service and display.
- Keep the pastry and prep areas clean, organized, and stocked.
- Assist with inventory, stock rotation, and notifying management of supply needs.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during service and special events.
- Support kitchen operations as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or restaurant is an asset but not required.
- A passion for baking, pastry, and culinary arts.
- Experience with cake decorating is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
