Eva Joseph Learning & Cultural Society is a community-focused organization rooted in professionalism, culture, collaboration, and connection. Our Little Badgers Early Learning Programs are grounded in relationships with children, families, each other, and the land on which we live and learn — the traditional territory of the Akisq’nuk First Nation.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our growing team. If you are enthusiastic about child-led learning, outdoor education, creativity, and fostering inclusive learning environments, we would love to hear from you.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with co-educators to create engaging, play-based learning experiences that support the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development of young children.
Classroom placement will be based on current program needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement child-led, play-based programming aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework
- Collaborate with co-educators to support a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Foster children’s creativity, curiosity, and developmental growth
- Support emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development in young children
- Maintain organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning spaces
- Build strong relationships with children, families, coworkers, and community members
- Encourage outdoor exploration and connection with nature through gardening and outdoor play opportunities
Qualifications
- Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) License and registration to practice in British Columbia
- Strong understanding of child-led and play-based learning approaches
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for creating welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environments
- Appreciation for outdoor education and nature-based learning
- Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive team environment
Compensation & Benefits
- $32 per hour depending on experience
- BC Wage Enhancements included
