We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QC/QA) Technician to support quality and food safety activities in our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring product quality, ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process.
Key Responsibility
· Perform routine in-process and finished product inspections (e.g., carbonation levels, fill height, closure integrity, labeling, sensory checks).
· Conduct laboratory tests such as Brix, pH, CO₂, and other quality parameters.
· Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
· Document test results accurately and maintain quality records.
· Identify non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and testing efficiency.
· Place product on hold and release product according to established procedures.
· Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
· Assist with internal audits, sanitation inspections, and verification activities.
· Support implementation and maintenance of quality systems and SOPs.
· Review production and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
· Participate in customer complaints investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
· Work closely with production teams to resolve issues, support training of staff on quality and food safety requirements.
Requirement
· Associate’s bachelor’s degree in food science and technology, Biology, or equivalent combination of education/experience;
· Experience in technical field (engineering, food science, chemistry) with industry experience is preferred;
· Knowledge of SQF, GMP and other food safety standard including HACCP or similar food industry regulations is preferred;
· Experience using Microsoft Office and other computer based applications (I pad, One Note, etc.);
· Strong attention to detail and observational skills. Problem-solving and root cause analysis capability.
· Good documentation and record-keeping skills. Ability to interpret specifications, procedures, and test results.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written in English.
· Must be able read, interpret and comprehend weights, measurements, and mathematical equations;
· Be able to effectively understand and adhere to a variety of guidelines and work procedures (including health, safety, hygiene and sanitation), along with prioritizing and organizing workload;
· Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as a team;
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and on rotating shifts if required.
· Flexible scheduling required; shifts may vary based on operational needs, including weekends when required.
· This position requires a valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
