Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Meat Department Manager to join our team in a fast-paced food retail environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, butchery, and meat cutting, ensuring high-quality product presentation and adherence to food safety standards. Duties
- Precisely cut, portion, and prepare various types of meats according to company standards and customer requests
- Ordering and handling of all meat products and while Adhering to store target margins
- Ensure all meat products are handled safely and stored properly in compliance with food safety regulations
- Package meat products efficiently for retail display or customer orders, maintaining presentation quality
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work stations, tools, and equipment throughout shifts
- Assist customers with product selection when required, providing excellent customer service
- Follow all food safety protocols during meat processing and handling to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and uphold quality standards
Skills
- Prior experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or butchery, is preferred
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for sanitation and hygiene
- Ability to operate knives and cutting tools safely and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise cuts and portioning
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
- Kitchen experience that demonstrates reliability, cleanliness, and professionalism
