Responsible for general bookkeeping duties, processing payroll, and compliance Tax reports.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for bookkeeping tasks for a variety of clients on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Reconciling bank accounts and prepare bank reconciliations A/R reconciliations
- Preparing PST and GST returns monthly, quarterly or annually
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end financial statements and corporate tax returns
- Preparing full cycle payroll for clients ensuring accuracy in all calculations and timely payment to employees.
- Preparing ROE’s, as needed
- Responding to any government enquiries regarding payroll
- Calculating payroll source deductions monthly, write cheques and/or advise clients
- Submitting WCB reports either quarterly, monthly or annually
- Reviewing tax returns to ensure the accuracy of the information – at tax time
- Reviewing Financial statements (ie. Budget sheets)
- Performing miscellaneous duties and ad hoc special projects, as requested
Qualifications:
- 2+ years full cycle payroll experience within an accounting practice
- Strong background in accounting processes, programs and knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of federal and provincial employment standards
- Experience with the day-to-day accounting requirements as well as year-end preparation, tax return preparations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, and various payroll software/programs
- Previous experience in a client services role and the ability to maintain strong client relationships
- Respond to client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- High level of professionalism and courtesy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
