Inside Sales Rules Here!
Typically, industrial distribution utilizes an outside salesforce, but at KBC, the inside sales team takes the lead to grow the sale, uncover the potential, find the client's pain and scale the business.
No more hot shot outside sales people treating you like their personal secretaries. You make it happen. You are recognized.
Can you feel comfortable, curious, and excited to engage in a conversation with a client or potential client to understand the scope of their needs?
What are they looking for now? What is their purchasing potential is? What are they looking for in their supplier?
Can you drill down from a general request to the exact tool or part a client is looking for? Do you know how to ask questions to get the information you need to help solve the problem?
Do you love reading catalogs and figuring out what goes with what? Do you love watching machining videos on YouTube? The bigger the lathe the better? Do you have some experience with tools & machinery for metalworking, woodworking, or plastics?
Are you Outgoing? Approachable? Curious? Driven? Dedicated? Empathetic? I don't know but I'll find out attitude?
The Opportunity
We have an OUTSTANDING opportunity at our Mississauga, Ontario branch for a B2B Inside Sales Representative. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role where no two days are the same.
You will be the front-line sales professional—the voice on the phone and the face at the counter—engaging industrial, manufacturing, and MRO customers Monday–Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
This is not a passive customer service role.
You are not an order taker—you are an order MAKER.
What You’ll Do
- Engage customers face-to-face, by phone, and by email in a fast-paced B2B environment
- Ask smart, consultative questions to understand: customer applications and challenges, immediate needs and long-term purchasing potential and what they value most in a supplier
- Recommend the right tools, parts, and solutions—not just what’s requested
- Generate sales through upselling, cross-selling, and solution-based selling
- Enter and manage orders accurately and efficiently
- Build and strengthen long-term customer relationships
- Identify opportunities within existing accounts and help develop new business
- Introduce new products, promotions, and flyer items
- Merchandise showroom displays and support in-branch sales initiatives
- Use CRM tools to track activity, follow up on opportunities, and close business
You are the eyes and ears of the organization, constantly looking for ways to grow accounts—one conversation at a time.
Be curious. Be confident. Find business.
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years of inside sales experience, preferably in B2B industrial, MRO, or wholesale distribution
- Experience working in: branch-based industrial sales, pro desk or parts counter environments
- Knowledge of tools & machinery for: Metalworking, Woodworking or Plastics manufacturing
(Tooling experience is highly desirable but not mandatory)
- Strong consultative selling and problem-solving skills
- CRM experience (asset)
- High energy, motivated, and comfortable being customer-facing
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong follow-up skills with a focus on closing sales and hitting targets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer systems. P21 experience is a plus.
