Part-Time Caregiver / Support Worker Needed
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and reliable part-time caregiver/support worker to care for our 23-year-old son with severe developmental delays.
This position involves providing one-on-one care and support in a home setting while helping encourage communication, mobility, learning, and daily living skills.
Responsibilities:
- Personal care including bathing, diaper changing, dressing, and hygiene assistance
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Light housekeeping related to daily care needs
- Encouraging walker use and assisting with mobility when able
- Supporting communication using picture boards and helping make simple choices (for example choosing between food items)
- Providing meaningful interaction throughout the day through talking, play, activities, and encouraging learning and engagement
- Following routines while providing patient, consistent support
Qualifications:
- Patient, caring, dependable, and compassionate
- Comfortable providing full personal care
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, special needs, healthcare aide experience, or caregiving experience is considered an asset
- Able to physically assist with caregiving tasks as required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
