Join our team of Critical Care Registered Nurses as we work together to deliver compassionate care that is responsive to the healthcare needs of our community.
Our Critical Care Unit offers state of the art care for cardiac, medical and surgical critically ill patients.
Our Critical Care Registered Nurses are charged with the care of the most vulnerable patients and their families. Using the latest technologies and working with the inter-disciplinary teams they deliver compassionate patient-centred care.
The Critical Care Unit is pleased to offer up to 6 Registered Nurses who do not have experience working in Critical Care but are otherwise qualified and interested in Full Time positions in this area, paid tuition and time to attend the Critical Care Certificate Program with George Brown College, a unit orientation with preceptors and ongoing evaluations. (Some restrictions may apply)
Applicants must be available to attend school for the full duration of 13 weeks commencing September 8,2026. School will be hybrid (you must have your own computer, be prepared to attend the Waterfront Campus once a week (most likely Monday but to be confirmed.) and placements will occur on the unit. You will also be required to attend training for two days of the week prior to school commencing on Wednesday September 2, 2026 and Thursday September 3, 2026. (No Exceptions) (Training dates subject to change)

Reporting Relationship: Managers of Critical Care
Employee Status: Full Time
Hourly Rate Range: $41.15 - $58.98
Schedule Requirements: Must be available days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
Location: Hennick Humber Hospital (formerly Wilson Site)
Position Responsibilities:

Care of acutely ill cardiac medical and surgical patients.

Care of patients requiring Hemodynamic and ventilation monitoring by means of invasive and non- invasive approaches.

Care planning and coordination of care with various team members embracing patient centered care.

Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
-
Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
Qualifications:
Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.

Current BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Minimum 1 year (Medical/ Surgical experience.

Completed Ontario Post-Secondary Institution Coronary Care (Level 1) Course preferred

Coronary Care 2 preferred

Basic computer skills required.

Good problem-solving skills required.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.

Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

Demonstrated good patient assessment skills.

Patient assessment course preferred.

Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
