HVAC/Refrigeration Service Technician Needed: 2nd year to Journeyperson
BMP Mechanical and Electrical provides 24/7 preventive maintenance and service to all mechanical systems. We specialize in multi family low and high rise, commercial, and institutional buildings.

The new candidate will need to be a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician with experience within a mechanical service industry. This position requires taking direct instructions with ease, excellent time management skills, and strong customer / co-worker communication skills and the ability to be on call. Responsibilities and Expectations
- Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks on various HVAC/R equipment
- Equipment retrofit and replacement
- Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools
- Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
- Install, troubleshoot and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Start up and system commissioning
- Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing
- Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
- Be a strong communicator/ take good notes
- Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
- Communicate with Dispatch team for personnel scheduling and service optimization
- Prepare required work estimates for clients
- Must always think safety first
- Must be willing to do on call

Required Experience
- Trade Certification/Red Seal or indentured apprentice
- Chiller and Cooling Tower experience is considered an asset but not necessary
- MUA , RTU, Split A/C, Heat pumps etc.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract
- Safety tickets are an asset but not necessary (in house training available)
