Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Scrap Car Hauler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for picking up, securing, transporting, and delivering scrap or end-of-life vehicles to designated scrapyards, recycling centers, or storage facilities. The ideal candidate has experience operating flatbeds, roll-offs, or tow trucks, understands vehicle loading and securement procedures, and demonstrates professionalism and efficiency on every job.
Schedule
Monday to Friday with alternating weekends 7am-6pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, secure, and transport scrap vehicles from various locations to designated drop-off sites.
- Operate towing equipment (flatbed, wrecker, or tilt-deck) in compliance with company and safety regulations.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and equipment are in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and scrapyards to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of pickups, deliveries, and required paperwork (weight tickets, receipts, manifests, etc.).
- Follow environmental, safety, and transportation laws and company policies.
- Handle scrap vehicles responsibly, ensuring proper safety and environmental handling procedures.
- Provide courteous and professional service at all times.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in towing, hauling, or scrap vehicle transportation preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle loading, securement, and weight distribution.
- Ability to operate winches, chains, straps, and other securement equipment safely.
- Strong time-management and communication skills.
- Physically capable of handling heavy loads and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must have own CSA-approved steel toe shoes or boots
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 55 per week
