The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience in long-term care, geriatric, or a related healthcare setting. Teaching and coaching skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Research skills with the ability to identify and provide current, accurate information.In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Covenant Health currently has a Northern Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $6,300. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Travel Expense Reimbursement: Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Instructor or Clinical Nurse Educator work experience. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who hold instructor certifications in CPR, ACLS, and/or BLS. Acute care and/or Ambulatory Care experience is also considered an asset.
