Offsite Warehouse Associate
Location: Canadian Tire Offsite Warehouse
Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Offsite Warehouse Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work both independently and as part of a team to receive, organize, store, and move merchandise while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient warehouse environment. This position involves frequent physical activity, heavy lifting, and the use of warehouse equipment and scanning technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, scan, verify, and store incoming and overstock merchandise according to company procedures.
- Use an EFD (scanner) to locate, relocate, and identify merchandise.
- Assist customers with product pickups and general inquiries.
- Load, unload, move, and organize merchandise safely and efficiently.
- Repair damaged or broken packages as needed.
- Dispose of garbage, recycle cardboard, and handle damaged merchandise in accordance with company policies.
- Operate warehouse computers and scanning equipment, entering accurate product information into Canadian Tire systems.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and Skyjack lifts (training/certification required where applicable).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete other warehouse duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, and move merchandise without assistance.
- Safely handle merchandise ranging from light to heavy items.
- Repeatedly lift, bend, twist, reach, and turn throughout the shift.
- Lift merchandise from floor to waist, floor to shoulder, and above shoulder height.
- Climb ladders and stairs while carrying merchandise when required.
- Push and pull carts, pallets, and other materials throughout the warehouse.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn warehouse scanning systems.
- Previous warehouse or material handling experience is an asset but not required.
- Forklift or other equipment certification is an asset (training may be provided).
