Silver Willow Water Co-op Ltd is looking for a part-time Certified Level 2 Water Operator to oversee the full operation of our small water treatment facility 25 km northwest of Lloydminster, AB. This contractor position is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact for someone seeking flexible work in a rural setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor a small community water treatment and distribution system including data collection, data analysis, starting/stopping equipment, conducting all preventative maintenance, maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.
- Perform routine water sampling, testing, and reporting as required by regulatory standards
- Maintain clear and accurate records of system performance and water quality.
- Conduct minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and respond to system alarms as needed.
- Ensure compliance with provincial drinking water regulations.
- Report directly to the Co-op Board.
Requirements:
- Valid Level 2 Water Treatment Certification (recognized in Alberta or Saskatchewan).
- Experience with small/rural systems is preferred.
- Must be well versed in critical thinking, troubleshooting and making real time process adjustments as required.
- Equipment troubleshooting and repair aptitude.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Available for on-call support as required.
Position Details:
- Part-time hours (<15 hours per week), flexible scheduling.
- Certification as a Certified Water Operator is REQUIRED. Applicants without certification will NOT be considered.
- Compensation as a Contractor to be discussed based on experience and availability.
- Ideal for someone local or already working in the Lloydminster/Vermilion region. No mileage to work site is paid.
