Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC is looking for an experienced Assistant Parts Manager to join our growing parts department team!
This is a great opportunity for a driven, detail-oriented individual looking to grow their career with a high-volume GM dealership. You'll work closely with the Parts Manager to keep our department running efficiently, support our service and technician teams, and help deliver exceptional customer experience.
Daily Duties Include:
- Assist the Parts Manager in the day-to-day operations of the parts department.
- Source, order, receive, and stock parts accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels; assist with cycle counts and annual inventory.
- Process parts orders for technicians, service consultants, wholesale accounts, and retail customers.
- Communicate effectively with technicians and service consultants to ensure the right parts are available for the right jobs.
- Work closely with other Dealership Managers for appropriate planning, communication, and follow-up on parts orders.
- Handle parts returns, warranty claims, and core returns as required by GM standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department and stockroom.
- Assist with pricing, invoicing, and daily reconciliation of parts transactions.
- Help train and support parts counter staff as needed.
- Step in for the Parts Manager as required.
- Provide a clean driver's abstract with no restrictions.
A suitable candidate will have:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a dealership parts department (GM experience an asset).
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology.
- Proficiency with DMS/parts systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds or similar).
- Must be capable of working independently and in a team environment, managing time and working efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with technicians, service staff, and customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Leadership skills and willingness to take on additional responsibility.
- Ability to relocate or reliably commute before your start date.
