Job Title: HVAC Lab Technician
Overview
The HVAC Lab Technician bridges the gap between field service and engineering. They test, validate, and maintain HVAC systems in a controlled environment. Responsibilities include building test setups, calibrating monitoring instruments, and executing performance safety tests to help develop reliable and energy-efficient products.

Core Responsibilities
- Product Testing & Validation: Set up, run, and break down performance, electrical, and safety tests on developmental HVAC units.
- Data Collection: Use specialized equipment to measure and log temperature, pressure, airflow, and refrigerant levels.
- Lab Maintenance: Maintain calibration on testing devices, organize lab facilities, and repair lab equipment as needed.
- Documentation & Reporting: Analyze test data and draft detailed reports for engineering and compliance teams.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all tests and handling of hazardous materials (like refrigerants) adhere to industry and environmental standards.
Key Requirements
- Education & Experience: Typically requires 1 to 5+ years of HVAC field experience or a post-secondary diploma in HVAC, Mechanical, or Engineering Technology.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of psychometrics, heat transfer, gas combustion, and electrical circuitry. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data acquisition software is highly valued.
Certifications: Relevant certifications are Gas Technician license (G1/G2) or Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card are often required.
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
