Reporting to the Evisceration and Live Receiving Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring results by production employees by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, mentoring employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
This is to fill an existing position in the company.

What you will be doing:
-
Conduct training for new QC techs and refresher training for existing QC Techs to achieve superior results in employee performance and compliance with MPIP, CCP and PRP programs.

Maintain and ensure that daily documentation is complete, correct and put away.
-
To oversee correlation tests with QC Techs.
-
Assist with SOP development and training.
-
Ensure that all program matches to CFIA regulations.
-
Ensures that operations procedures and processes are followed and enforced daily. This includes safety, quality, yield, product and labour costing, public relations, union issues, HACCP, BRC, etc.…

Ensures that Production employees have received adequate good manufacturing practices and technical training and that all staff are following all procedures and guidelines.

Verify employee records or forms related to health & safety, production, and time sheets on a weekly basis, and liaise with employees to correct any inaccuracies.

Ensures that products manufactured in the department meet the regulatory and customer requirements.

Participates and/or assigns employees to work on new product development and plant trials.

People Management:
a. Organize and supervise the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all assigned work activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
b. Provide formal and informal feedback to subordinates to ensure their continuous development and overall contribution to the achievement of Maple Lodge Farms business strategy.
c. Develop team capabilities through continue on-the-job and formal training opportunities and coaching.

12. Policies, Processes & Procedures
a. Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
b. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
c. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of improved department specific processes, policies, and procedures.
What you will bring:

Four years of operational experience required, including at least two years of Supervisory, required;

Advanced knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;

Advanced knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;

Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
-
Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;

Demonstrated success in building strong, collaborative teams, setting stretch objectives, and holding people accountable for commitments with a track record of delivery favorable results;

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Must pass a test in CFIA carcass defect detections, cavity defect detection, and viscera defect detection.
