Position Name: Facility Cleaner
Department: Maintenance
Position Type: Permanent Full Time, Onsite
Hours per Week: 40
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour depending on experience

Summary
The Facility Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all areas of the facility, including production floors, offices, washrooms, and common spaces. This role involves safely working with cleaning products and strong time management skills to complete daily and other routine cleaning schedules. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work environment for all our team members and maintaining our GMP standards related to sanitation and proper hygiene.
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize production areas, offices, and all exterior and interior common areas such as lunchroom, washrooms/change rooms, boardrooms, employee entrance and reception area.
- Follows and completes daily tasks assigned in the CMMS Maintenance system.
- Efficiently manages time to complete tasks within scheduled deadlines.
- Dispose waste and empty trash bins daily.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors regularly.
- Operate Floor Washing Machine.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors as needed.
- Restock supplies in washrooms and common areas.
- Inventory management of cleaning supplies.
- Inspect and report any maintenance issues.
- Comply with safe handing of cleaning chemicals (WHMIS) and work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and established rules of the Company.
- Comply with GMP and HACCP requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Previous cleaning experience in an industrial setting preferred.
- Experience using a tablet to record daily tasks, experience with CMMS Maintenance software is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and materials safely.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Maintains regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborates well with others, proactively contributes to group objectives and volunteers to help team members when needed.
Required Education
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout shift.
- Manual dexterity – use hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools.
- Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stairclimbing as needed for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions
- Working in a large manufacturing facility, with forklifts and large equipment moving around. Noise up to 80dB.
- Requires PPE, such as hairnets, steel toe footwear, and others as needed.
