Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Parts Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing inventory, sourcing parts, and providing exceptional customer service within our dealership environment. This position requires a strong understanding of parts department and mechanical knowledge, ensuring that parts are readily available for our operations.
Duties
- Manage the inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained.
- Perform data entry tasks related to parts ordering, receiving, and inventory management.
- Assist in purchasing and procurement activities to source necessary components.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and fulfilling orders promptly.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Utilize ERP systems and CMMS for tracking inventory and managing orders.
- Engage in demand planning to anticipate future parts needs based on sales forecasts.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing for parts procurement.
- Operate forklifts as needed for moving heavy items within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of purchasing processes and supply chain management.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Familiarity with sourcing strategies and negotiation techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in manufacturing is a plus.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and CMMS software for inventory management.
- Experience with demand planning in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
- Forklift certification is preferred; training may be provided if necessary.
