MCF/JBS, CALGARY – DAY SHIFT (6 am to 2:30 pm)

Consisting of 4 locations: JBS Canada Head Office (Calgary), the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, Mountain Creek Farms (MCF in Calgary, AB) case ready plant and JBS Ontario (Belleville, ON) case ready plant.
MCF produces value-added products including marinated, portioned, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more from primarily beef primals but also other species in conjunction with adherence to grading, HALAL, Organic requirements / certifications. MCF is a SQF certified, Federally Registered Establishment.
Our preferred candidate will possess the following:
- Experienced on stand-up forklifts including movement of palletized goods in and out of overhead rack locations
- possess a current or recently expired (within 3 months) forklift certification
- Experience using electric / motorized pallet jacks (walkies and ride ons)
- Experience with RF guns (for scanning products for receiving, inventory and shipping purposes) and inventory movement into computerized inventory
- Ability to speak and read/comprehend in English for interaction with drivers, management and team members
- Ability to lift at least 70 lbs from the ground
- Ability to engage in manual labor for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to work in potentially extreme environmental conditions (particularly cold temperatures – outside the facility and within the freezer); most of your work tasks will be in a refrigerated environment
- Ability to work overtime if needed
- Basic computer skills
Requirements for the person in this role:
- Safely & efficiently load & unload transport trailers, body jobs, sea cans, other transportation modes as needed while avoiding damage to materials handling equipment, product and/or the transport vessel
- Safely operate all warehouse equipment including stand up forklifts, electric motorized ride on and walkie pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, pallet wrappers while transporting ingredients, packaging, raw materials, WIP (work in progress) and finished products throughout the warehouse environment while avoiding damage to the facility, materials handling equipment or goods being transported
- When relocating pallets of materials in a high speed setting, with minimal available room depending on variable quantities of pallet movements, avoiding damage, meet customer expectations and maintain accuracy and customer service via radio and to drivers of transports
- When receiving freight there is accurate and consistent counting and visual inspection of the incoming goods and transport containers, and fulfill the responsibility to sign Bills of Lading (BOL) verifying accuracy of the received good, then transfer of BOL documentation to management for inventory receiving to be completed expeditiously
- Communicate effectively using the radio to others within the MCF team
- Utilize RF scanners to accurately receive freight, accurately scan inventory to correct locations in the virtual warehouse inventory, accurately scan freight to outgoing orders
- Handle / Palletize boxes weighing up to 35 kg (77 lbs) up to shoulder height on a consistent basis if needed
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse via dry pickup of materials on the floor, sweeping, garbage disposal
- Display good teamwork with the office personnel on a consistent basis and in a timely and professional manner
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, steel toe boots, safety vests, protective gloves, hearing protection,
- Follow Food Safety Quality Assurance requirements for raw material segregation per allergens, species (beef, bison, poultry, lamb, pork, etc), declared certified programs (Halal, Organic for example)
